Red Teaming LLMs: Testing AI Systems for Harmful Behaviors

Red teaming is the proactive security practice of attacking your own system before adversaries do. For LLMs, red teaming focuses on eliciting harmful outputs, bypassing safety measures, and finding failure modes that could cause real-world harm.

Why Red Team LLMs
